World Wednesday: Vietnam
Pack your bags because we are headed to the country of Vietnam! Here are some fast facts about Vietnam before we dive into this strange but beautiful home:
Capital City: Hanoi
Population: 85,262,356
Language: Vietnamese (official), Chinese, English, and French.
Climate: North Vietnam has Southern Mediterranean type climate. South Vietnam has a tropical monsoon climate.
Nightlife: There are numerous discos and karaoke bars. As in most places, it is preferable to explore in the company of a long-term resident, to avoid the traditional rip-offs.
This home was dreamed up and built by the architect, Dang Viet Nga. It was built entirely from personal and private funds, which is a feat in itself. The local city government even fought her during the entire process with building this home. Obviously, we all know how this goes. She did not give up on building her fantasy dream home.
The home is supposed to replicate a giant Banyan Tree:
The home has 5 different levels and each room has a different theme. Of an even more interesting note, the home was constructed entirely out of hand drawings, not blueprints! And it was built by non skilled artisans. Not actual construction workers. It doesn’t have many services most hotels offer, but why would you need that when you basically live in a hobbit house with giraffes with glowing eyes.

Now let me tell you the best part about this. You can stay in this home and rent it for 39 dollars! It is actually a hotel. You can rent it by looking at this website.
