8 Holiday Events in the Omaha area you can’t miss!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year again, and the metro, once again, has a laundry list of great family-friendly activities and events this month to help get everyone into the holiday spirit.

  1. Santa’s Wonderland at Cabela’s and Santa’s Wonderland at Bass Pro Shops (Nov. 16 - Dec. 24) Free

    • Santa’s Wonderland offers free crafts throughout the season, featuring different crafts each week. Plus, families can enjoy games, activities, visits, and pictures with Santa (Bass Pass required for free photo with Santa.)

  2. Lights of Aksarben

    • Dec. 13 - Cocoa with a Cop

    • Dec. 20 - Santa & Mrs. Claus

    • Location: Stinson Park, 2232 S. 64th St., Omaha, NE

  3. Carriage Rides at Village Pointe

    • Holiday shoppers can enjoy complimentary horse and carriage rides on Saturdays throughout the center.

    • Location: Village Pointe Shopping Center, 17305 Davenport St., Omaha, NE

  4. Omaha Gingerbread Festival (Nov. 16 - Dec. 15) Free

    • Gingerbread displays and holiday performances

    • Location: Ramada Inn, 3321 S. 72nd St., Omaha, NE

  5. Classic Christmas at Mahoney State Park (Dec. 14 (1:30 - 4:30 pm)) Free (Park Permit required)

    • Christmas celebration featuring pictures with Santa, sugar cookie decorating, winter crafts, and tram rides through the park

    • Visitors will need a daily or annual Nebraska State Park permit.

    • Location: Eugene T. Mahoney State aPark, 28500 W. Park Hwy., Ashland, NE

  6. Sycamore Farms’ Winter Wonderland (Dec 13 - 15)

    • Shop from 70 indoor heated vintage vendors, makers, and artisans for the perfect gifts and holiday decor.

    • Admission: $5 per day, $10 for the weekend, Free for kids 12 & under

  7. Holiday Skate at Motto McLean Ice Arena (Dec. 15, 22, & 29 (4-6:30pm)

    • $12 for 4 people, $3/additional person

    • Price includes skate rental. Children 5 and under are free with paid adult.

    • Location: 5015 S. 45th St., Omaha, NE

  8. A Visit From Santa at Lauritzen Gardens (Dec. 7-20)

    • Visit with Santa at the garden. While you’re here, take a tour through the Holiday Poinsettia Show, explore the Majorie K. Daugherty Conservatory, watch the model garden trains, play games in the Metropolitan Utilities District Family Chill Zone, and bundle up and head out to enjoy the barks, berries, and seedpods of the winter season in the outdoor gardens.
